Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may have only just married this Spring but, with Halloween fast approaching, it looks like Yandy is already taking advantage of the pop culture moment. The website is currently offering a bride costume that, while it doesn’t exactly look like Meghan’s epic train-clad gown, is most certainly modeled after her ceremony look on that big day last spring.
Called the “American Princess Costume” the name in and of itself is a nod to Meghan—i.e. she is the American who has just married into the British royal family, though not technically a princess by title.
The look is an off-the-shoulder mini dress with three-quarter sleeves and a micro-mini silhouette. While it looks like something we might see on Kylie Jenner’s Instagram, it’s basic silhouette certainly mirrors that much-discussed neckline that Meghan is so famous for championing. On the model’s head is a crown, complete with a short veil that cascades down her back, while her hand holds a bouquet of white flowers. What’s more, in another image of the costume, the model holds a suit jacket and at her feet sits a metal briefcase with the number 18 on it, alluding to Meghan’s former stint as a model on Deal or No Deal, featuring the last two digits of her wedding year.
Yandy is no stranger to the headline-making Halloween costumes. Whether it's not removing offensive "Native American costumes, a handmaid from The Handmaid’s Tale, or pregnant Kylie Jenner, the list of offensive costumes is seemingly endless. In the past, the company has been forced to remove some of the aforementioned looks from their offerings, so only time will tell what will happen with this Meghan Markle lookalike.
